Formula
Monthly Growth = (End ÷ Start)^(1/months) − 1 · Annualized = (1 + Monthly)^12 − 1
FAQ
Why geometric rather than dividing by months?
Growth compounds. Splitting total growth evenly across months ignores that later growth builds on earlier growth — the geometric mean is the correct per-period rate.
Is net new MRR a better metric?
They answer different questions: growth rate normalizes for size; net new MRR shows absolute momentum. Boards usually want both.
